President's Welcome

I would like to extend a very warm welcome to you.

If you are new to Holland, welcome to The International Women’s Contact, The Hague. Our Club has been in existence for 30 years now and we pride ourselves on having almost 400 members who come from over 60 countries. We are a truly international Club.

We offer a comfortable variety of activities throughout our Club to cater to different interests. These activities allow ample opportunity to get to know other ladies and fully embrace your stay here in the Netherlands. Our Club year commences in June and runs until May. During the summer months of July and August, the Club is closed as members take on their vacations. English is the official language spoken and the IWC is neither political, religious nor commercial.

Once a month, on the second Monday of the month, we all meet for our Monthly Meeting at the Museon, during which a lecture is given on any given topic that is current or of interest to members. The topics are varied and our speakers are drawn from their professional areas of expertise. Two times a year we are having a Country Morning. These events are held to represent a particular country’s culture and are organized in close cooperation with the concerned embassy.

We also place a strong emphasis on cultural activities. By this I mean, we have several opportunities throughout the year to learn, through music, fashion, food about the different cultures.

But certainly a core part of our Club, is to raise awareness of the various charities around the world and the huge tasks that fall on those who run these organizations. We contribute through various activities, financial support that is then sent directly to the organization that we identify to support in any given year.
